Are you interested in reading submissions, discovering new voices, and helping shape the inaugural issue of Afterbodies?

Afterbodies exclusively publishes high school and undergraduate writing that surfaces what often feels hidden or buried in society and within ourselves. We are currently looking for passionate Poetry Readers and Prose Readers who want to help us find stories and poems that dare to stay under a little longer.

Positions Open:

Readers are the first eyes on incoming submissions. You will read and vote on pieces, provide thoughtful feedback to writers, and help us discover work that pushes boundaries and resists systemic exclusion. We welcome applicants of high school or undergraduate backgrounds.

Applications are open from 3/20 to 4/20 at 11:59 PM EST. We review applications as they come in, so we encourage applying early! We may reach out to you for a brief interview.

All positions are remote and volunteer-based. If accepted, you will stay on the team through the end of our inaugural reading period, after which you can decide whether to continue. All final decisions will be sent out by 5/15.
